Play Dreams Laughter Happiness Rights… is what we in IOGT International fight for. Today I am in Vienna at the Vienna NGO Committee on Narcotic Drugs (VNGOC), where we have an exciting side event at the 55th Commission on Narcotic Drugs about Children’s right to be protected from drug use.
Giving Childhood a Chance
The world community is not doing enough to protect children and it is not enough to focus on harm reducation because children of our world have the right to be protected from the effects of drug use, no matter if they are drug user or their (for example) parents. That means that many countries have to become better at translating the Convention of the Rights of the Child into law practice and they have to shape up in giving primary consideration to the Best Interest of the Child when making policy decisions.
