Communities Speak – Towards the drug policy of the future

Welcome to a one day conference organized by IOGT International on the margins of the Commission on Narcotic Drugs.

This much needed event aims to gather communities, community activists and organizations that seek to reduce drug use prevalence through evidence-based prevention and treatment activities rooted in a health and rights-centered approach.

We will start with an assessment of the situation in selected countries. What is going on? Where is the debate on drug policy and what are the organisations doing about it, thinking about or maybe lacking?

We will present a new report by Drug Policy Futures on current developments and discourse regarding Narcotic Drugs Policy. The presentation will be followed by an interactive discussion and group work.

Finally we will discus the way forward and how can we support each other in country efforts and in regional and global efforts to address the world drug problem.

Participation

We charge a participation fee of €40.

This event is open for member and partner organisations of IOGT International, Drug Policy Futures and WFAD.
