Starting 2026 Together: Connecting, Discussing, and Shaping Our Movement
Movendi’s January 2026 Event
Four complementary spaces. One shared purpose: coming together to discuss how we can make those most of 2026 and shape our movement
January 2026 begins with four Movendi events that invite members, partners, and the wider community to come together at the start of an important year. These events create complementary spaces to connect across regions and roles, discuss emerging issues, learn from one another, and explore opportunities to shape Movendi’s work in 2026.
Together, they reflect the full scope of the Movendi movement – from staying informed and making sense of developments together, to elevating advocacy actions, sharing lived experience, promoting the benefits of alcohol-free living, shifting social norms, and opening up new evidence to the public. Each event serves a distinct purpose, while contributing to a shared journey of learning, engagement, and collective people-powered action.

The Alcohol Policy News Talk (APNT) is a welcoming space for everyone interested in alcohol issues to stay informed, discuss developments, and connect with others across diverse contexts. Each session brings together highlights from Movendi’s Alcohol Policy Newsfeed, Science Digest, and Big Alcohol Exposed iniative, creating a shared space to make sense of what is happening in policy, science, and industry practices.

APAP sessions focus on exchanging advocacy experiences, discussing approaches, and learning from successes and challenges across regions.
This first session of 2026 provides a space to reflect, sharpen advocacy thinking, and strengthen collective capacity to advance evidence-informed, people-centred change throughout the year.
APAP is a strategic space for alcohol policy advocates to exchange experience, sharpen advocacy approaches and mobilise support for national and local advocacy initiatives, and to strategise together for participation in global and regional advocacy initiatives, and strengthen collective impact.
