Established in 2008, Slum Child Foundation is a non-profit social service and community-based organization with a special status with Economic and Social Council of the United Nations (ECOSOC).
Slum Child Foundation is dedicated to helping the most vulnerable and marginalized members of the Kenyan society. We work with vulnerable and marginalized children, women and youths from major slums in Nairobi, Kenya which include but not limited to:- Korogocho, Huruma, Mathare, Ngei, Baba Dogo and Dandora.
Slum Child Foundation has developed interventions that promotes safe spaces for children in the slum of Korogocho, they include, addiction prevention initiatives and implementation of actions to promote children’s rights, Prevention of Violence against children, Safe Water, Sanitation and Hygiene, Prevention of gender-based violence, promotion of Life Skills for self-reliance and sustainability to promote women’s and girls’ empowerment.
