A new booklet outlines the key findings of the H2O Nordic research network. The Nordic Centre for Welfare and Social Issues took the initiative in 2013 to launch a Nordic research collaboration on alcohol’s harm to others (H2O Nordic).
Booklet: THE RIPPLE EFFECT OF ALCOHOL – CONSEQUENCES BEYOND THE DRINKER
By highlighting a number of life areas and case studies in which people experience harm from others’ alcohol consumption, the booklet summarises the research findings in a practical context, supported by the many different research approaches. As such the booklet provides meaningful new perspectives to how alcohol use affects people as individuals and as a community and society.
The booklet explores topics such as:
- What is alcohol’s harm to others?
- Can harm be measured in Euros?
- What works in minimizing nightlife violence?
- What are the international perspectives?
The H2O Nordic project has led to a number of Nordic comparative studies and publications. The Nordic research network has also pioneered ways of conducting international research on alcohol’s harm to others.
