The German Conferences on Tobacco Control are organized annually by the WHO Collaboration Center for Tobacco Control in cooperation with the Action Alliance Non-Smoking at the German Cancer Research Center in Heidelberg.

The conference serves to exchange experiences about successful measures to reduce tobacco consumption in Germany, to promote and develop future projects and concepts and to present networks and coalitions for smoke-free companies, institutions and action groups.
In addition, country-specific actions are to be combined with local actions. For this purpose, successful models are presented at local and country level. National and international experiences from the implementation of smoke-free legislation are presented and the marketing strategies of the tobacco industry are examined.
The aim of the conference is to strengthen existing projects and initiatives to reduce smoking and to effectively prevent tobacco. The conference also serves the training of doctors, psychologists and other health professions in tobacco cessation.
