The 5th Conference of the International Society for Child Indicators

From Welfare to Well-being: Child indicators in research, policy and practice

 

Researchers, practitioners, policy makers and child advocates from across the world will gather for three days to share and discuss the latest child indicator research and implications for policy and interventions.

The 5th ISCI conference is hosted by the Children’s Institute, University of Cape Town, in partnership with the African Child Policy Forum, UNICEF and the Poverty and Inequality Initiative of the University of Cape Town.

 

Sub-themes include:

  1. Early childhood development
  2. Youth transitions to adulthood
  3. Child participation and citizenship
  4. Child-focused indicators of social change
  5. Measurement of child poverty and inequality
  6. Child protection and violence against children
  7. Making sense of household form and care arrangements
  8. Combining qualitative and quantitative methodologies
  9. New information technologies and alternatives to traditional surveys
  10. The use of administrative data in child indicator work
  11. The power of surveillance site and cohort data
  12. Conceptualising and communicating child indicator research to influence policy
  13. Lessons learnt in establishing indicator projects
