Delivering the Global Alcohol Action Plan: Independent Monitoring of Progress and Industry Interference
ZOOMMovendi International is launching two groundbreaking accountability tools to accelerate implementation of the WHO Global Alcohol Action Plan (GAAP) and support countries in achieving the 20% alcohol consumption reduction target. This virtual event will present the first Civil Society Shadow Report on GAAP implementation and the pilot Alcohol Industry Interference Index, offering independent insights into where countries are making progress — and what is standing in the way.
Participants will hear global, regional, and national evidence on policy implementation, concrete examples of alcohol industry interference, and reflections from WHO representatives (TBC) and civil society actors. The session will highlight the urgent need for stronger accountability, social participation, and interference-free alcohol policy making to close the implementation gap and advance health and sustainable development.
Join us to explore new evidence, deepen understanding of global challenges, and discuss pathways for accelerating effective alcohol policies that protect people and communities worldwide.
