“Protection of Minors – Convergences of The Regulation”

Organizer: Ministry of Culture of the Slovak Republic (MC SR)

The expert conference is aimed at the field of protection of minors against harmful content in linear as well as non-linear media services. The current state of harmonization in this area does not offer a sufficiently convergent system, which would offer the basis for a common European regulation in this area. Often it rather brings problems with interpretation and its application, and particularly in the cases of cross border offering of content it does not work efficiently enough. The expert discussion should bring above all real comparison of the current state in the different member states and point out to existing problems, as well as best practices. The aim is to name suitable solution for a minimum convergent framework of regulation in this area in the context of the current discussion about the proposal for a revised Audiovisual Media Services Directive.
