DECRIMINALISATION – WHAT WORKS AND WHAT DOES NOT
Movendi International Side Event at the Commission on Narcotic Drugs, 64th Session
As several countries have decriminalised marijuana in recent years and some more countries are discussing options for decriminalisation, it is important to create understanding and paint a complete picture about the existing results of marijuana decriminalisation.
Is it a winning concept?
This side event will open space for discussion about the effects of decriminalisation in various countries.
Based on a profound analysis by the Drug Policy Center (NPC) from Sweden of data about the impact of decriminalisation in several European countries, we will talk about which measures under which circumstances are crucial to prevent and reduce drug related harm.
During the side event, we will launch the English translation of the afore mentioned report: “Decriminalisation of narcotic drugs – what can we learn”.
