Next week I will attend the 24th IFNGO World Conference which is being held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia from 8th – 11th of November 2011 and later the IFNGO 16th Biennial General Meeting.

The theme of the conference is Strength, Unity and Diversity: Time for an International Voice for NGO’s“.  A major aim of the Conference is to provide a forum for decision makers and professionals to gain an understanding of NGO issues and needs in relation to addressing alcohol and other drug use and associated harm, with a particular focus on the Asian and Pacific regions.

I will chair Plenary session three on Thursday. Contributors in this session will be Dr Steve Kraus – Director, UNAIDS Regional Support Team, Asia and the Pacific, Dr Sushma Taylor – Chief Executive Officer, Center Point Inc, from the USA and Mr Gories Mere – Head, National Narcotics Board, from Indonesia.

So, you can immagine that I am really looking forward to the points put forward and the discussions.
